Have I sat at dock’s end
Thinking I’m alone
There’s no one home

Only to glance
Deep down past the surface
Witnessing the glimmering
Existence below

Reminds me
Love
It’s like that too

I wander a trail
Twisting, turning
Wondering how
I’ll make my way through

Only to find
Each step appears
From one step before
That wild flowers obscure

Reminds me
Love
It’s my path too

~

I dance in fields
Following the sun
Give thanks to roll
In the beauty all around

It nourishes, nurtures
All our lovely lives
All we have to do
Is open up our eyes

Reminds me
Love
It blooms in me too

~

I listen to the song
Of a funny little dove
Soaring high above
Petty squawks and squabbles

Wonder what it’s like
To be so uniquely free
To this bird’s mind
How must our world seem
