FINGERPRINTS – By ElizaBeth Coira

Fingerprints_ElizaBeth Coira_HomeGrownSojourner

An embryo
I yawn
Stretch open
Reaching
Yearning
To make my mark

Both what I’m given
And what I create
What I brush up against
What I embrace

This is the making
Of human
Fingerprints
Though as I stare
At a tree

I notice the rings
Like my index fingers
Akin

Perhaps
We too
Are family

God
What we do
To each other

Reviews for The Well Within Workshop:
“It was an honor to be among those invited by Elizabeth Coira a few weeks ago, to participate in her first “Tapping the Well Within” workshop at Loon Lake. Elizabeth is a gently caring, incisive moderator, bringing out the creative depths in each of us, positively reinforcing our embracing the good we can then put into action. In the relaxed, beautiful natural setting of lovely Loon Lake, she combines meditative, introspective guidance to explore the myriad creative possibilities in our lives. Her workshop has helped to instill new vitality to my artistic life, and I encourage you to treat yourself to a truly remarkable experience!” –Ann C., 6/15/2016

LISTEN CHILD – By ElizaBeth Coira

Listen Child_ElizaBeth Coira_HomeGrownSojourner

I raise a flower for you
Why have you forsaken me

I rise a river to you
How could you have forgotten me

I grow a tree from a seed
To provide all that you might need

Breathe and eat of my breast
Yet you have forgotten all the rest

Birds your brothers
Cougars
                –Cousins
Even snake and bear

All of creation
Gifted with life
But not one hurts me
As you do

I cry
I try
Hope for you
That you will grow up
Strong, wise

As the tree
Yet without me
Your paths grow fewer
Fallen

So I ask this day
That you may recall
Your Purpose
                        Promise
                                        Light

Smile and flow
Be at home
With Love,
                –Great Mother
                (Earth’s embrace)
